Thick and heavy blade, shortened two times but still massive in its appearance. It seems to be made in Yamashiro | Bizen Tradition and during Sengoku times it was popular to use Uchigatana swords of length around 60-65 cm, so it was most likely shortened by that period.
The following opinion is subject to be changed made at present day:
Hamon: Chu-Suguha Yasurime: Osuriage, maybe not made by the smith: Ura: Kiri, Omote: Sujikai Suriage: no Yakiba visible Habaki: Shakudo and fold foil: motive in Katakiri-bori of a cloud dragon – laquer residue Urushiu (maybe from the former saya) |
Hada: Itame mixed with Mokume Hataraki: subtle present sunagashi Flaws: minor flaws in polish along cutting edge
|
School estimation: requires further research, probably Mihara School, Sue-Bizen eg. Tadamitsu might be a good guess.
